CCHS Spirit Store: From a Closet to SouthPark Mall

Everyone loves CCHS spirit wear – from sweatshirts to pajama pants to Hawaiian shirts. There is something for everyone. The only problem is the only place to find this gear is on the school campus, specifically on Tuesdays and Thursdays. To address this problem, CCHS is setting up its very own kiosk inside the SouthPark Mall.

Just as Marvin Ridge sells their school merchandise in Target stores, Charlotte Catholic is also expanding its market. Robert Johnson, a representative for SouthPark, added, “I am really looking forward to having a local high school among the big name retail sites in this shopping center.” CCHS hopes to not only establish another site to sell their products but to further expand their line of merchandise. This will include dog collars, socks, biker jackets, and bracelets.

Should this kiosk prove successful, the Charlotte Catholic spirit store will try to find a permanent location in the mall. A possibility includes the previous Ann Taylor store. CCHS hopes to see students supporting this business both by buying spirit wear or working shifts afterschool. Student employees will receive a 20% discount on any purchase.

In order to attract customers, CCHS is turning to students to create a brand name and slogan. They are challenging students to come up with their own name and submit it to cchssouthpark@cchsemail.org. The person who submits the winning name and slogan will receive a free swag bag with a total value of $100.

One student noted, “It’s really cool that Catholic is moving into the mall. I think that Catholic merch will start popping up all over Charlotte.” Students want to see Charlotte Catholic spirit wear work in collaboration with other brands such as Lululemon, North Face, and Lego.

Students, alumni, and faculty can keep a lookout for the grand opening coming in early August 2024, just in time for the new school year and football season.

In celebration of the store’s opening there will be an exclusive CCHS x Louis Vuitton backpack given away to a random student at the grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony.
