Winter vs Spring
The weather changes fast, bringing different seasons with it. Twelve months a year are separated into four seasons: summer, fall, winter, and spring. The Northern Hemisphere is experiencing the middle of winter now, with the possibility of an early spring. Some might prefer a warm-up over cool temps, but I prefer winter over spring.
Winter is known for its colder temperatures, but the holiday season which enters alongside it is what makes it magical. Holidays such as Hanukkah, Christmas, New Years, and Valentine's Day are highlights of the winter season. Spring has far fewer holidays and festivities. Less happiness perhaps?
There are more activities to do in winter because of the snow, which allows for skiing, snowboarding, tubing, sledding and other outdoor activities. Even without these, winter still offers a serene scene to those looking outside at the dustings of snow.
It is well-known that people will need to dress for cooler conditions during winter. Between pants, gloves, coats, or sweaters, one will need something to keep them warm. In spring, the temperatures can feel similar to winter or summer. However, one day might feel cold and the next warm, making it more difficult to determine what to wear.
One drawback of winter is that the days are shorter and nights longer leaving less room in people’s day. Another drawback is that nature has a dead look because the trees are bare and most greenery dies from the harsh temperatures, whereas in spring the atmosphere feels fresh and vibrant because everything is greener and blossoming.
Seasons bring their own delight to each individual in different ways. They offer social gatherings, pretty scenes, and are full of memories. For me, winter is full of happy memories and events that keep the season enjoyable even with cold temperatures.
