The End of an Era

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is putting a wrap on the Eras Tour. Swift is a well-known pop artist throughout the world. She has held six concert tours altogether, making her no stranger to performing. She has entertained over 4.3 million fans via the 21-month Eras Tour. She split the tour into a domestic version in 2023 and an international run in 2024. She kicked things off on March 17, 2023 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Now, her final concert winds down on December 8th, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada.

Taylor’s music career has grown significantly throughout the years, as she has grown in recognition throughout the world. For the Eras Tour, she performed in five continents, spanning Australia, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. All of her concerts have been successes except for in Vienna, Austria in the summer of 2024, where multiple shows were canceled due to terroristic threats.

Prior to the tour, Swift released the re-recorded albums 1989 (Taylor's Version) in October 2023 and Speak Now (Taylor's Version) in July 2023. Last spring she released a new album, The Tortured Poets Department, while out performing.

A variety of high-profile artists such as Gracie Abrams, Benson Boone, Sabrina Carpenter, Beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, Girl in Red, MUNA, HAIM, Gayle, Owenn, and Suki Waterhouse performed the opening acts for the shows.

Some of CCHS’ Swifties have gone to the Eras Tour. Sophomore Eden Bodary will miss the tour and said “it was the most amazing concert experience [she has] been to and [she will] never forget seeing her perform for over three hours.”

After sharing her music live in cities across the globe for a few years now, the big question on everyone's mind is how long will we have to wait until we see Swift perform again?
