Community Responds with Prayers for Victims of Accident
On April 6, 2024 at approximately 11:30 p.m. six high schoolers, including two Charlotte Catholic students, were involved in a tragic accident. The six teens, driving back from a prom at Christ School, an all-boys boarding school in Asheville, were on I-40 when the driver lost control on an exit ramp at a high speed and struck a tree.
Myers Park High School 16-year-old Sophie Gordon and 19-year-old Robert Fox died as a result of the accident. Charlotte Catholic juniors Abby Lynn Robinson and Isabella Tarantelli suffered severe injuries and were rushed to Mission Hospital’s ICU. The driver and other passenger were transported to the same hospital with minor injuries.
